FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 6/04/2026
Orlando, FL and Chicago, Il. — The Orlando Chicago Bears Fan Club today shared its excitement and perspective following Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams (#18) has been named the next cover athlete for EA Sports’ Madden 27
“Calm on the surface. Chaos underneath. And now… the face of Madden.”
According to the Club, this moment represents more than just a video game cover; it signals a powerful intersection of brand, identity, and momentum for both Williams and the Chicago Bears organization.
Earlier this year, Williams began trademarking his “ICEMAN” persona along with gameplay silhouettes for future branding and merchandise opportunities. In an interview with The Athletic, Williams described the mindset behind the persona as calm on the surface with intense energy underneath, an approach that has quickly become synonymous with his on-field performance.
“This recognition reflects what Bears fans are already seeing,” said CL “Bigdawg” Graddy, Game Day Host for the Orlando Chicago Bears Fan Club, who attended the EA Sports official “Opening Drive” showcase at Chicago’s iconic Navy Pier.
“It’s not just hype.. it’s fuel. This team is building something, and our fan base feels it.”
The announcement comes on the heels of a season marked by dramatic comeback victories and the team’s return to playoff contention, generating renewed excitement across the Bears’ national and global fan base. With the National Football League’s worldwide audience estimated between 150–200 million fans, the visibility of Williams as the Madden cover athlete carries a significant cultural and commercial impact.
The Orlando Chicago Bears Fan Club also highlighted the unique local connection, noting EA Sports’ strong presence in Orlando, where much of the Madden NFL franchise is developed. Regional fan groups across Florida, including Tampa Bay, Daytona Beach, Southwest Florida, and Brevard County, are already organizing major events for the upcoming season, including a collaborative game day experience when the Chicago Bears travel to Miami.
“This is bigger than a cover,” Graddy added. “It brings national attention and more exposure to the Bears at the perfect time while energizing one of the most loyal fan bases in sports.”
The Club also noted the historical benchmark set by Madden NFL 07 featuring Shaun Alexander, which sold approximately 7.7 million copies in the United States. With Williams’ rising profile and the Bears’ surging popularity, there is growing speculation that this year’s edition could challenge or surpass previous sales records.
“Bears fans are everywhere, and they show up,” Graddy said. “From Chicago to Florida, internationally and beyond, our fan base shows strong support, whether it’s wearing the jersey, attending events, or picking up a copy of the game.”
Williams’ appearance on the Madden 27 cover could mark a defining moment not only for the player, but also for the franchise and its global community of supporters.
